Why ISS?
An established program to learn Spanish language, literature and culture in depth: regular classes, cultural activities and daily contact with Spanish people.
Academic program
Classes are taught by professors from Spanish universities, in Spanish, in our building in the university area of Valencia. Credits are accepted by most US colleges and universities; we issue transcripts on request.
Host families
Living with a Spanish family is the best way to practise the language and understand the culture. Every family goes through our screening process. Homes are less than 30 minutes from school on foot or by bus. You get your own room, use of the common areas, three meals a day, and weekly laundry and room cleaning.
Personal attention
Classes are small, so teachers know every student and can adapt to your level. Our students often describe the school as a big family, and our staff speak English whenever you need it.
Valencia
Spain's third-largest city has a mild Mediterranean climate, a historic centre, the City of Arts and Sciences, the Turia gardens and long sandy beaches. From here it is easy to travel around Spain and to the rest of Europe at weekends and during holidays.
Cultural activities
Guided visits and excursions take place throughout the summer and the school year. A professor and an official guide accompany students on all of them.
